Gwen Stefani got emotional while discussing her first red carpet appearance with Blake Shelton at the Vanity Fair Oscar party in February 2016 on the Kelly Clarkson Show. The Hollaback Girl singer revealed that it was her first public date with Shelton and he made an exception to attend the event with her. They started dating in 2015, got engaged in 2020, and married last summer. Clarkson also discussed another gown Stefani wore to the Met Ball in May of this year, designed by Vera Wang, which Stefani praised for its similarity to the original sketch and how it came to life.
