Actress Mariska Hargitay, known for her role on Law & Order SVU, revealed at the Democratic National Convention that she will be voting for Joe Biden. Hargitay founded the Joyful Heart Foundation in 2004 to support survivors of sexual assault and change society's response to it. She credits Biden with working tirelessly to end the backlog of untested rape kits, which is the focus of her Emmy-winning documentary I Am Evidence. Hargitay stated that she is voting for Biden for her children and all children, as testing rape kits not only makes the country safer but sends a vital message to survivors that what happened to them matters.
