Even though celebrities should thank their lucky stars for what they’ve achieved, being in the public eye can be a double-edged sword. After all, no matter how popular a star may be, almost every celebrity has some haters. In fact, despite the common belief that Tom Hanks is the nicest person in Hollywood, he has been targeted by QAnon. Amazingly enough, before Betty White passed away, she may just have been the only celebrity who is almost universally beloved. For proof of how beloved White was, all you have to do is look at the fact that Betty hosted Saturday Night Live simply because her devoted fans petitioned for her to do so.
Even though White remains beloved even after her passing, most people have no idea that a world tragedy actually delayed her ascent to stardom. Why Betty White Will Always Be a Legend
In late-2021, Betty White passed away less than a month before she turned one hundred years old. While many people were sad that White fell short of that milestone, it actually is somewhat fitting. After all, White was such an avid entertainer and she had such a mischievous sense of humor that it seems likely that she would be amused to build up expectations and then go her own way.
When the world learned that Betty White had passed away, there were millions of people who felt profoundly sad that such a marvelous person no longer was among the living. While that reaction was completely valid since White always seemed so lovely, at least her fans could continue to enjoy her work for years to come.
Of course, Betty White worked in the entertainment business for decades and while some of the projects she starred in were poorly received, her career had countless highlights. In fact, White achieved so much in her career that she earned a Guinness World Record for "Longest TV career by an entertainer (female)" in 2014.
