Betty White's last word before passing away on December 31 was her ex-lover Allen Ludden's name, according to her friend and co-star Vicki Lawrence. Carol Burnett confirmed this through Betty's assistant. Betty and Allen were married from 1963 until his death in 1981. Betty was set to turn 100 years old on January 17.
She passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, contrary to rumors that her death was related to getting a COVID-19 booster shot three days earlier. Her agent Jeff Witjas stated that she died of natural causes and her death should not be politicized, as that was not the life she lived.
