Kelly began writing about her split shortly after their separation, but she was uncertain if she would ever release it due to the 'angry' state of mind she had written it in. However, the album, which covers a gamut of emotions, will be released next year, featuring songs that were mostly written almost two years ago. Music has been an outlet for Kelly as she works through things in therapy, and hopes her new music will help others going through a divorce.
Despite being a single mother raising two children, she plans on doing shows in the future.
