Kelly Clarkson has presented evidence in court as part of her legal battle against her former talent manager and father-in-law, Narvel Blackstock's company, Starstruck Management Group. The company filed a lawsuit against Clarkson accusing her of owing over $1 million in commissions and expected another $5.4 million in future commissions. In response, Clarkson countersued the company claiming it violated California Labor Code by procuring employment without proper licensing. The case was heard by the California Labor Commission, and both sides presented documents and testimony to support their cases.

The commission has yet to issue a ruling on the dispute. Clarkson reached a divorce settlement with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock in March 2022, and she was awarded primary custody of their two children.
