Betty White's Illinois hometown of Oak Park is creating a new holiday called Betty White Day to honor the late comedian on January 15th, two days before her 100th birthday. As part of the celebration, local businesses like Mickey's Restaurant will offer "Betty White specials" such as a meal of hot dog, fries, and diet coke, some of White's favorite foods.
There will also be a giant birthday cake from Turano Bakery, commentary from the village president, and a mural contest featuring White's likeness. White was born in Oak Park in 1922, and while her family later moved to California, she returned to visit the town years later.
