Joel Thurm, the casting director of "The Golden Girls," revealed in a podcast that Bea Arthur and Rue McClanahan referred to their co-star Betty White with a derogatory term. Thurm explained that tensions arose on set due to Estelle Getty's memory loss, which White made fun of in front of the live audience.
While it had been rumored that Arthur disliked White out of jealousy, White herself confirmed in 2011 that Arthur found her to be a pain at times and had a reserve towards her.
