Despite her divorce from Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson maintains a close relationship with her former stepmother-in-law, Reba McEntire. During an episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Clarkson confirmed that the split had not affected her personal dynamic with McEntire. The two were friends even before Clarkson and Blackstock got together and continue to communicate regularly.
Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in 2020 after almost seven years of marriage. McEntire, who was previously married to Blackstock's father, Narvel Blackstock, in 1989, also went through a highly-publicized divorce in 2015.
Despite their respective experiences, both women understand that life doesn't always go as planned, which has created a unique bond between them.
