Pearce clarified that her upcoming duet with Chris Stapleton, "We Don't Fight Anymore," is not about King and was written a year ago when she was still in love. Pearce had dated King for two years after her divorce from Michael Ray in 2020. The breakup was described as civil by both parties, with King wishing Pearce the best personally and professionally.
