Dolly Parton and her lifelong friend Judy Ogle were involved in a car accident in Nashville in October 2013. Ogle was driving when their vehicle was struck by another car, leaving Ogle trapped inside. Parton was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and later released. The incident brought up memories of a childhood injury where Parton had cut three toes while jumping over a fence onto a broken Mason jar. Rather than going to the hospital, her mother used cornmeal to absorb blood, kerosene for antiseptic, and sewed her toes back on with sewing needles. Despite the gruesome nature of the injury, Parton healed and remains able to walk on her toes today.
