Country rap artist Jelly Roll, born Jason DeFord, is giving back to troubled youth by donating a recording studio to the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center in Nashville, where he was previously incarcerated. He hopes to bring hope and be a beacon of light for young people who are often stuck in difficult situations. DeFord, who discovered his passion for music while in the detention center, has also returned to mentor the kids currently incarcerated. He shared his story on the PEOPLE Every Day podcast.
